The building is classified as Historical under the protection of the Authority "Paesaggistica" (landscape and heritage).

Centone is one of the oldest and most beautiful "casale" in Matraia; it seems to be there since XIV century and it became first a recovery center for monks, later it was the oliveyard of the Guinigi family, who owned the whole area and used to spend the summer in their Villa, just below the Centone. The yard has been cultivated for long time with olive trees, vineyard, wheat, walnut and other fruit trees, some still present in the property.  

 

In the house there are still some "secret" hidden rooms and we have discovered ancient vestiges...
